The Sound of Trans Freedom

I was one of four sound artists commissioned by Aunt Nell to make a creative response to letters from Press for Change’s archive.

Press for Change was a formative lobbying group that brought about the Gender Recognition Act, and I was asked to make a response to a series of letters sent to Press for Change in the 90s and early 00s, on the theme of family. Listen here:

The other artists were Kamari Romeo, naafi and Tom Sayers, and the piece was commissioned and produced by Tash Walker and mixed by Arlie Adlington. You can listen to the whole thing here.

The piece was premiered at LSE, and will now be part of the Press for Change archive stored there. I had the honour of appearing on a panel discussion alongside the other artists and Stephen Whittle.
