I love making short form audio! It’s my favourite format to play with – you can say a lot with a little and get v into sound design. I’m looking to make more short form stuff – if you want to hire me to do this please get in touch!
Press for Change
I was one of four sound artists commissioned by Aunt Nell to make a creative response to letters from Press for Changeโs archive.
Press for Change was a formative lobbying group that brought about the Gender Recognition Act, and I was asked to make a response to a series of letters sent to Press for Change in the 90s and early 00s, on the theme of family. Read more here.
How to Look 30 When You Are 30
I found a pamphlet of advice for trans masculine people published in 1985 by Lou Sullivan. It had a section about how people often mistake 30 year old trans mascs for 14 year old boys, and what to do about it. So I followed all of Lou’s instructions. It’s about the beautiful mutual aid of trans communities, and reclaiming our history in the context of a moral panic that presents transness as a new and threatening phenomenon. Read more here.
Look Cool Be Gay
features one of my very best friends, Sylwia, talking about their personal journey into accepting their queerness. It was made for Short Cuts’ Signs and Symbols episide – here’s a link.
It’s about leaning into the grey, not having an answer for everything, and the endless potential for people of marginalised identities to support each other, simply by existing.
Bats in the Attic
is a bit about bats, and a lot about grief. Grief can be an alienating process, both for those going through it and for the people around them – I wanted to make something that could provide a language or reference point for those touched by it. This was made for Short Cuts’ Nature Documentaries episode – here’s a link.
Emelia Brooks made an animation out of a section of my piece! You can watch it here:
Makeshift
is about the cognitive dissonance of knowing who you are, and not being able to express it. I co-produced this with Nada Smiljanic. It was made for Short Cuts’ In Other Words episode – here’s a link.
AAAAH!
is a short piece exploring how to find release for the anger and grief we live with that feels beyond words. It was made for Short Cuts’ Expression episode – here’s a link.
Good Company
is a little snippet into a very silly evening I spent during lockdown with my two housemates – Izzy Yon and Femi Oriogun-Williams who are two of the people I love most in the world. It was made for Short Cuts’ Small Victories episode – here’s a link.
The Sound of a Hug
For an episode of safe + sound we made during one of the Covid 19 lockdowns, I tried to work out how to hug my mum in sound.
Matt Damon
is a short action story that I co-produced with Arlie Adlington. We originally made it for KCRW’s 24hr Radio Race. It also aired on Short Cuts – here’s a link to the full episode.
The KCRW Radio Race is SUCH a joy to be a part of โ it’s funny and challenging and inspiring and silly, and you truly feel like you’re part of the international radio community. 10/10 would recommend.

Burnout
I made a little 1 min piece about burnout and working from home. It was for Sarah Geisโ Audio Playground – would recommend checking it out, it’s such a lovely thing that exists.
