Down the Rabbit Hole

Down the Rabbit Hole is an audio storytelling project that I designed, facilitated and produced in collaboration with Women in Prison, The Empathy Museum and National Prison Radio working with three incredible women – Rita, Elizabeth and Angel – who access services at The Beth Centre in Lambeth. This was a project I ran through Boldface.

I ran 10 weeks of workshops on storytelling, writing, public speaking, recording techniques, and more. I also invited the legend Brenda Berungi to guest facilitate some sessions, and received incredible support from WIP’s Donna Everett.

Rita, Elizabeth, Angel and I ended up co-producing a podcast series of letters and personal stories, which were then edited and sound-designed by Nada Smiljanic and myself. The audio was also broadcast in prisons across the UK through National Prison Radio. The very talented photographer Kamiah Chae visited us for a session to take photographs, which Sara Butler made into a beautiful book.
